Jacqueline and Eric • Destination Maui Wedding

It was a warm, tropical day on Maui in the middle of December. Finally, finally this long awaited day had arrived. There had been months of counting down and endless hours of planning for Jacqueline and Eric’s wedding day. Now that is was finally here they wished time would slow down.

Even as they boarded their plane, it all felt like a dream. A wedding on Maui with their closest friends and family in attendance. They spent every moment hand-in-hand up until the morning of their wedding. It was time to prep, to spend some time with their family, and to become a bride and groom.

Everything was so peaceful. Jacqueline was calm as she made sure all of the last details were together, while Eric found himself rubbing his hands together as he anxiously awaited his bride. For their First Look he waited for her within a path of palm trees as he watched lighthearted children play in the ocean. Suddenly her hand was on his shoulder, and there she stood. Perfect. Covered in an unfamiliar white, but with that same smile he knew so well. He sealed his lips tightly as he held back tears while she reminded him to breathe. They whispered I love you a million times. Then, remembering their bridal party was spying on them from around the corner, they laughed and waved and took in every emotion of this moment. In just a couple of hours they would become husband and wife, but for now she was his bride and he was her groom, and this was their wedding day.

Sam and I felt so incredible blessed to be a part of this wedding. Jacqueline and Eric opened their hearts and made a place for us in their family for the wedding. It was all so amazing! This was my first official destination wedding and they put complete faith in me, I will always be grateful for that. My only regret is how much I wished for 12/13/14 to hurry because now that its over I miss all of the planning and excited calls from Jacqueline. Can’t we just do it over again? 🙂

The day following the wedding they invited us to attend the Old Lahaina Luau with their family. I snapped a few photos but mostly enjoyed our time with them as friends.
