We said goodbye to our first baby today. Our heart We said goodbye to our first baby today. Our hearts are broken. This sweet pup- my first dog I dreamed about my whole life- was so special. He took Sam and I from college apartments to our first house to walking down the aisle at our wedding and helping raise our babies.

We adopted Jackson out of a flagstaff motel 6 where he had been stolen from an abusive home on the Indian reservation. The first time he was home alone he snuck out of my second story window and hung out on the roof until my property manager found him. Every chance he got to run away he would, including in the middle of a long hike and once on thanksgiving, we like to think he was looking for adventure but really he just liked to do his business with a view 💩

He was quirky and rambunctious and an old man at heart. Jackson was truly a furry best friend we could always count on to be waiting at the door when we came home. Now all I can think about is how I will never hear the sound of his tail beating on our wood floors again 💔

after living with an aggressive tumor for over 6 months, his time had finally come. He crossed the rainbow bridge while an actual rainbow filled the sky, and somehow it was comforting to all of us as we snuggled him and said goodbye.

But gosh this is going to hurt for a while- he left a freaking giant hole in our hearts.
We will always love you Jackson.
