When I get the idea to do an inspiration shoot, it soon becomes all I can think about. My Pinterest gets a little more active and my doodles gain more purpose. Early November I had this vision filled with snow, bright red lips and tiny little hearts. A story of a couple escaping from their busy city lives to say their “I do’s” in their favorite little mountain town. A story of love and spontaneity and escape… an elopement.
I knew I had to bring it to life before Christmas. There was just one problem: I forgot I don’t have a direct line with the “weather gods.” And Flagstaff is notorious for weather not cooperating. I found April and Denny (the sweetest most in love couple ever) and we set a date. Then I found some amazing local vendors including Christine makeup extraordinaire, Flagstaff Tuxedos, Mountain High Flowers, and Virginia Smith.
Ten days before the shoot date the forecast predicted high 40s. Five days before it fell into the 30s. And the day before we were surprised with an abnormally big storm that lead to over eight inches of snow on the mountain! It was wonderful. It was freezing. It was a dream come true. And April and Denny were absolute troopers- I am forever grateful. I am so happy to share a few of my favorite images from this shoot. Please feel free to share, pin, and enjoy <3
