I honestly don’t know where to begin this post… that’s how much I loved this shoot. This is going to be a long one (that is well worth it). You’ve been warned!
For a very, very long time I felt like I was meant to become a photographer. I saw people falling in love and wanted to take a picture of that exact moment (in a non-creepy way, of course.) And after almost a year and a half I have found that one thing I really want to pursue is helping people celebrate their marriage; not just when a couple is engaged or on their wedding day, but years later when they are still crazy about each other. A lot of people get married and have children and it becomes all about them- which is great! But it is also so important to remember where that family began. To look back to that first date, that first kiss, to the day you said “I do”… and remember why.
Enter an amazing opportunity. Amy contacted me asking if I would like to do a shoot in honor of her anniversary. After one wedding, two kids, and a full decade together, all she wanted to do was celebrate this amazing life she has been blessed with. My head started spinning with ideas. She said her and Matt were married on the beach in Malibu and instantly I knew I wanted to do a “Beach Chic” theme that I had been dreaming about…. It would be a modern and glamorous, with little nostalgic touches to remind them where it all began 10 years ago. Forgoing the turquoise and seashells cliches, this would be oh-so chic with a touch a sparkle.
Before I share some of my favorite photos I’d like to give some love to the incredibly talented vendors that worked on this shoot. Somehow they managed to bring this vision of mine to life and I am forever grateful for their amazing talent.

Isn’t this dress AMAZING? Oh my.
They let their inner models come out, and then I died.
I hope this idea inspires you to celebrate the fact that you are married to your favorite person. Whether its with a photo shoot, a date night or just a little note left on the kitchen counter, remind one another where it all began. (And check back soon for the second part of this session where Amy gets back in her original wedding dress 🙂 )
